Tool Time

with Errol Speed of Smith & Speed Mercantile

What is your favorite garden tool?   Learn how to repair and maintain the tools so necessary for gardening chores.   Wear old clothes and bring your hand pruners, loppers, etc. for a "hands on" demonstration.   Patrick Bennet will film and simultaneously project onto the screen Errol's work so we can see and follow along.   Bring other tools that need sharpening.

Propagation and Layering

Nancy Bartholomew, formerly of Orcas Island, will give us a "hands on" lesson on plant propagation.   Nancy has a horticultural degree and was one of Dan Hinkley's first employees at Heronswood.   She then had her own nursery business on Orcas called Rocky Top. She now gardens in Blaine.
